Unlike most my CD started with erythema nodosum witch are like red tender lumps on your legs at this time I had no tummy pain. But my legs hurt constantly at one point I was crawling around as it hurt to much to walk. This went on for about a year with no doctors being able to help



then I started to have tummy pain and not being able to eat again between my legs and the tummy pain I was brought to my knees



I was rushed in to hospital one night after 18 months of living like this as I had collapsed on my mum at home. Lots of tests followed I had scans ,barium meals ,and the dreaded camera , by this point I was so ill I had started bleeding heavily and all I wanted to do was sleep



the doctors told me after being in hospital for 3 weeks that I had CD I was 17 I was relieved I new something was wrong and was beginning to think it was in my head I needed a right hemicolectomy and after the op I felt so much better it took me a time to get back on my feet as I was so weak before the op and my life went on with no major problems until 2002 when the symptoms were back this time I had a resection and again I felt really well after I have bean fine again until December last year when I had a lot of pain again and an abscess was found witch meant a laporotamy and it being drained unfortunately this kept getting infected and has now turned into a fistula and it looks like my bowel is no doing to good as well so at some point in the next few months I am back on the old operating table but i am looking forward to being normal well normal for me again
